Starting at Temescal Gateway Park, Temescal Ridge Trail quickly winds up the canyon before leveling off at the ridge. The trail offers a steep, challenging hike that provides sweeping views of the San Gabriel Mountains, the Santa Monica Bay, and the Los Angeles basin. It is also the route to the iconic outcropping, Skull Rock. To extend the hike, continue along the ridge at the southern end on Temescal Ridge Fire Road.

The trail can be accessed from Temescal Gateway Park in Pacific Palisades. From the PCH, head inland on Temescal Canyon Rd for 1 mile. Continue past Sunset Blvd to enter the park. From the main parking lot, follow the park road. Keep left at the fork and trail will be on the left after 100 ft.
