Apwinga Loop Trail is one of the longer trails within Vasquez Rocks Natural Area, offering uphill and downhill sections with sweeping scenic views of the Soledad Basin. The striking rock formations that you see along this trail have been shaped by millions of years of sediment deposition and compaction, followed by uplift from seismic activity to an average angle of 50 degrees.

Use this trail to connect with the Bobcat Trail, Tokupar Ridgetop Trail, or the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) as it descends into the canyon.
