Restrooms and Trash Available at Farnsworth Park

Since the creation of Pasadena's Transit Route 88, many new trail users have been dropped off at the Cobb Estate to find that no restrooms or trash receptacles are available.  Please note that these facilities are available at Farnsworth Park, less than a 5-minute walk south on Lake Avenue.  See a map below.

Pasadena Transit Route 88 is special route traveling between the Metro Gold Line Memorial traveling on and the Sam Merrill Trailhead in Altadena. This demonstration project is the result of a coordinated effort by the City of Pasadena, County of Los Angeles Supervisor Barger, the Trust for Public Land, and The Wilderness Society. The project is being funded by County of Los Angeles Supervisor Barger, City of Pasadena, and a grant from Edison International.

Pasadena Transit Route 88 will be a local service with stops along the route. The Metro Gold Line can be used to connect to Route 88 at the Memorial Park Station. Travel time to the trailhead is 23 minutes. Buses will leave every half hour from the northbound Raymond and Holly bus stop between 7:05 a.m. to 4:35 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The last bus will depart from the Trailhead at 5 p.m. The Sam Merrill Trailhead is the access point to the Echo Mountain and Inspiration Point trails. For more information call 626-744-4055.
