This 2.8-mile trail explores the open Zuma Canyon. The sandy trail stretches north along a stony creek bed and through brushy open space. As the mouth of the canyon closes, oaks and sycamores become more abundant, providing greenery and shade for trail users. This trail has amazing views of Zuma Canyon and is abundant with native wildlife and vegetation. Zuma Canyon Trail gently climbs 300 feet, making it ideal for a casual jog, hike or horse ride. Extend your outing by making a loop with Canyon View and Ocean View Trails.

From PCH, turn inland at Busch Drive across from Zuma Beach. Travel north and turn right (east) onto Rainsford Place. Turn left (north) onto Bonsall Drive and travel until its end. The trail leaves from the northwest corner of the unpaved lot at the end of Bonsall Drive.
