WARNING HIKERS!! MRCA has just put up their signs on a parcel they purchased in 2020, directing hikers to use use a path marked with small flags that go about 50 feet and end in 6 foot high brush.(no trail) A few brave hikers beat their way through the brush and found their way to a clearing where the flags continued, following the flags they found ended up at a private road where a sign states "PRIVATE ROAD:Right to pass by permission of and subject to control of owner...Section 1008 Civil Code" They asked a resident who was walking her dog, " How do we get out of here?" she said you can go back the way you came. They stated it was horrible breaking through the brush and refused to go back. The resident said instead they decided to continue down the private road (Ramirez Canyon Road). This is what MRCA has done, sending the public into a dead end private road when a few feet North is the "RAMIREZ CANYON PARK" owned by SMMC & MRCA, they could have easily routed the trail into their "park" instead of in front of the closed "park" gate and onto a private road. This so-called trail dumps the public from the county into the city limits with no notice or permits issued, this is a clear violation done in the dead of night to punish the residents of Ramirez Canyon for standing up to Joe and the SMMC. NOTE: As of now this so-called trail is not listed on this site. Below is a statement on this site page about a trail in the back of Ramirez Canyon Park, it shows how they feel about the public using their Park: "Ramirez Accessible Trail is a short trail in Ramirez Canyon Park. Equestrians are not allowed on Ramirez Accessible Trail. Ramirez Canyon Park is only open by appointment only: Phone: (310) 589-2850" GOOD LUCK!!!
