Palisades Fire Update: Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area Closures 

Park Closure: King Gillette Ranch Visitor Center Closed Due to Palisades Fire

The King Gillette Ranch Visitor Center is closed until further notice due to a Level 3 Evacuation Order caused by the Palisades Fire. Please evacuate the area immediately and follow all safety instructions from emergency personnel. Check back for updates.

Park Closure: Paramount Ranch Closed Until Further Notice Due to Palisades Fire

Starting on January 8 at 6 p.m., Paramount Ranch, including the parking lot, trails, and facilities, will be closed to the public until further notice due to fire operations for the Palisades Fire.

Park Closure: Solstice Canyon and Cheeseboro Canyon Closed Until Further Notice Due to Palisades and Kenneth Fires

Solstice Canyon and Cheeseboro parking lots, trails, and facilities are closed, effective January 10, 2025 – until further notice due to the Palisades and Kenneth Fires.

In addition to those closures and due to the extended red flag warnings, parking lots and gates closed for Rancho Sierra Vista, Rocky Oaks, Peter Strauss Ranch, and Zuma Trancas Canyon.

Phone lines at visitor centers, Anthony C. Beilenson Interagency and Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center are currently unavailable until further notice. You can reach the park via email at SAMO_Interpretation@nps.gov.
