LA County Operated Trails Reopening May 9th

Los Angeles County Trails

As of May 24, 2020, most County multi-use trails, trail heads, and park facilities that serve as trail staging areas have been reopened but are subject to intermittent closures as needed. County Multi-Use Trail Hours of Operation are from Sunrise to Sunset, however, trail parking/trailheads that are located within County Natural Areas are open from 8:30am until 5pm.  Visit https://parks.lacounty.gov/  for more information on County Parks and Natural Areas.

Follow all posted regulations at trails and trailhead facilities.  Physical distancing of 6 feet is required and no group gatherings are allowed on trails or in parking areas. Trail users over the age of 2 are required to wear face coverings at trailheads, parking areas, and destination points along trails.

***PLEASE NOTE THAT EATON CANYON TRAIL IS CLOSED EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY THROUGH, MAY 31, 2020.  The closure includes Eaton Canyon Natural Area, trails, trailhead, parking lot, nature center and all gates.  No walk-ins are allowed.  This is one of the County's most popular trails and users are encouraged to explore the many other trail option in the region that likely have less visitation.

The Canyon Trail at Placerita Canyon and the San Dimas Canyon Trail will remain closed.***

Mother’s Day – Local, community and regional parks, will remain open on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10, for passive use, such as walking, jogging, and leisure time outdoors for individuals or families. Since the holiday is one of the busiest days of the year, LA County Parks reminds all park guests that social distancing is required, and group gatherings are prohibited by the health order. *Botanic gardens will be closed on Sunday, May 10.*
