The Santa Maria Canyon Trail is a short and relatively less traveled trail that provides users with both canyon and ocean scenery as it descends down into the canyon. Interesting features of the trail include several wooded groves and a footbridge where the trail crosses over Santa Maria Creek. Towards the end, the trail runs through a grassy meadow which provides unobstructed views of the hills surrounding the canyon.

From the 101 exit at Topanga Canyon Blvd (Hwy 27). Head south towards the mountains on
Topanga Canyon Blvd for 3.5 miles and then turn left onto Viewridge Rd. In 0.4 miles the trailhead will be on the right.
