Nicholas Pond Trail offers a pleasant excursion off Nicholas Flat Trail to Nicholas Pond. The eastern end of the trail follows a creek to the pond, a spring-fed water body with a dramatic cliff face at its edge. The pond is bordered by large oaks along the south side, which continue on along the more shaded western segment of the trail, connecting to Nicholas Meadow Trail and on to Nicholas Ridge Trail.

The trail can be accessed from Decker School Road via Nicholas Flat Trail. From the PCH, head east on Decker Road. After 2.4 miles, make a slight left onto Decker School Road. Continue on the road around a series of turns until the end. There is one ADA parking space at trailhead and limited street parking.
