This trail follows a wide, dirt fire road up from Stunt Road, along the mountain side through the Dark Canyon geologically uplifted and folded rock formations, and on up to the ridge and Calabasas Peak. Most views are to the west, out over Cold Creek Canyon, as well as of the interior Santa Monica Mountains. The trail connects to Red Rock Canyon Park, where you will find red sandstone outcroppings.
From the 101, head south on Las Virgenes Road and travel 3 mi. to Mulholland Highway. Go left (east) on Mulholland, travel approx. 3.9 mi. to Stunt Road. Turn right (east), travel 1 mi. to trailhead on right (south) side of road.
