Take the trail with you ...
We’re excited to announce the launch of the all-new Trails LA County mobile app and re-launch of our updated website! We hope you will take a moment to explore both. The app is built around offline mapping and navigation, so that you won’t go off-track just because your cell phone cuts out. The site offers detailed planning tools to help find the perfect trail for you – choose from the more than 550 miles of public trails countywide.
Here's why it matters:
2,000 Miles of Trails
Did you know it is estimated that there are more than 2,000 miles of public trails in Los Angeles County? From the Mojave Desert and Santa Monica and San Gabriel Mountains down to the world famous Pacific Ocean, these trails belong to us. And there’s never been a single official source for trail maps, planning and information – before now. Trails LA County hosts more than 550 miles of trails…and counting! Our goal is to partner with all the trail managing agencies in LA County to have all 2,000 miles of public trails featured on Trails LA County in the near future.
Offline Mapping and Navigation
The Trails LA County app has offline mapping and navigation built right in – that means that you won’t have to worry at all about what happens to your map when you hike out of cell phone range (after all, sometimes that’s the point!).
Find the Perfect Trail for You
You can filter your trail search by difficulty, by location, or by trail type. Want to find the perfect spot to hike with your kids? Does Fido deserve a fun day on the trails? Want to take your new mountain bike out for a spin? Find the perfect trail for you today.
Engaging for Everyone
Trails LA County’s new app and website aren’t just meant for one-way communication – it’s a platform for engaging with Angelenos from every zip code and connecting locals and visitors to the diverse landscapes our region has to offer. Built-in social media sharing tools and fun photo galleries make it easy to share your experience. Events and volunteer opportunities bring us all together with diverse and interesting activities.
Check them both out, then #TakeAHike! Download the Trail LA County app on the App Store or get it on Google Play.
